I wrote this entirely in my head driving home from playing football in Everton Park. It's about the lack of listenable music that gets written about in the press or played on the radio. Could have been written yesterday, really. The ending that rips off Bad Religion was just meant to be a placeholder till we sorted something else out, but in the end, we couldn't be arsed.
Matthew never learned the part properly, and when we tracked it he made a right mess of the end and we all fell about laughing - you can just about hear the laughter at the end of the song.
